This edition is commited to sustainability
Steps have been taken to reduce the environmental impact of this year’s festival, such as the introduction of reusable glasses, more recycling centre locations with recycling containers, and a communications and awareness raising campaign both before and during the festival.
To reduce the festival’s environmental impact we use reusable glasses. We have paid particular attention to their design, so you can take home a nice souvenir if you want.
We have created a fractional waste management system, to separate and recycle waste more effectively. We have increased the number of recycling centres with recycling containers, and have worked to implement correct waste management.
In addition, we have complemented these measures with awareness raising messages aimed at the public.
Internally, our suppliers are ISO 14001 accredited for integrated environmental management.
We have been granted Erronka Garbia certification, which recognises events that include environmental measures in their design and organisation to minimise potential negative impacts on the environment associated with the event being held. To achieve this we work closely with Ihobe, the Basque Government’s Public Environmental Management Company, which aims to support implementation of the Basque Government’s environmental policy, and to promote a culture of environmental sustainability in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country.
