- Bilbao BBK Live closes out its fourteenth edition with an attendance figure of 112,800, constituting over 100 countries of provenance.
- Dates for the 2020 edition were announced during the festival: 9th, 10th, and 11th of July.
- First 3,000 passes exclusively available at the festival sold out immediately.
Bilbao BBK Live bids a grand farewell to its 14th edition, boasting the most contemporary roster in the festival’s history with artists of such renown as The Strokes, giving one of the best performances at the festival for their only Spanish show; Rosalía, a star who knows no borders with a live show to match the caliber of her music; Brockhampton, a rap collective in the prime of their powers; the indispensable Liam Gallagher; Thom Yorke, with his singularly personal solo project; and Vetusta Morla, who had the whole festival singing along to their hits. Also worthy of special mention were this Saturday night’s performances, having drawn 37,000 people who rocked out to Weezer’s show, a retrospective of their discography and their only Spanish date; The Good, the Bad, & the Queen, with Damon Albarn artfully oppugning the current Brexit imbroglio; Vince Staples, one of the key voices in hip hop today; and Hot Chip and 2manydjs seeing out the 14th edition in climactic style.
Bilbao BBK Live has consolidated itself as one of the most important festivals in Europe, with people from over 100 countries among its audience.
The campground once again proved one of the favorite lodging options, hosting a total of 9,000 guests in its different camping, glamping, and capsule facilities, featuring extra services and activities such as yoga and the Akelarre stage. As in previous years, the festival is collaborating with the Zierbena Sarea association to reuse the tents campers donate after the festival.
The organization would like to thank the public for its cooperation in keeping Kobetamendi clean and green and for having made use of the sustainability measures implemented at the festival: separate waste and recycling bins, reusable cups, and the cashless payment system which avoids manufacturing festival tokens. In this regard, the festival’s commitment extended far beyond its collaboration with BIAAF, a capsule collection of garments manufactured with fibers made of plastic collected from the ocean, which was also well received by festivalgoers.
Bilbao BBK Live has already announced the dates for its 2020 edition, to be held at Kobetamendi on the 9th, 10th, and 11th of July, with the first 3,000 passes made available at the festival selling out immediately. Early-bird tickets are now on sale online for the special price of €96 for the 3-day pass and €111 for the 3-day pass with camping.
Once again, the festival would like to thank all the sponsors for their support. Without their involvement it wouldn’t have been possible to achieve our growth and development objectives for this edition of the Bilbao BBK Live.
