ANNI B SWEET

ANNI B SWEET

The acclaimed artist from Malaga will present songs from “Universo por estrenar” [universe to debut]. A fourth album which is a complete change from her previous work, and in which Anni makes the leap to the perfect pop of catchy choruses with hints of retro-futuristic electronic and neo-psychedelia.

CARIÑO

CARIÑO

Maria, Paola, and Alicia are Cariño, one of this season’s breakout bands thanks to their fresh ditties, uninhibitedness, and raw attitude. Honest, ironic, acerbic, and occasionally naive, their compositions are brimming with outstanding melodies that gush forth with the utmost naturalness—the result of a pressing need to shout out to the world their most immediate and, above all, real feelings.

GIMNÁSTIC

GIMNÁSTIC

In late 2018 Gimnástica released Líquido, their third and latest effort. This nine-track album, which really manages to define the band’s personality, moves among the heaviness of alternative rock, nods to electronica, and melodies shrouded in a certain halo of mystery, consolidating the Alicantine act as one of the most noteworthy names in the Spanish independent scene.

HERMANOS CUBERO

HERMANOS CUBERO

Los Hermanos Cubero (The Cubero Brothers) have long been crowned one of the most interesting and respected proposals of popular song. In Bereziak the duo will present songs from the applauded “Quique dibuja la tristeza” [Quique draws the sadness], (el Segell, 2018). A record marked by a personal tragedy which has resulted in a handful of good songs. Born out of grief and pain but a heart-wrenching beauty.

LORENA ÁLVAREZ

LORENA ÁLVAREZ

On Colección de canciones sencillas, Lorena Alvarez once again marries modernity and tradition in her particular vision of popular Spanish song. Reinterpreting folk through her creative process and artistic polyvalence, the chanteuse presents her most intimate oeuvre to date, working through her own experiences thanks to words that are not always unequivocal.

MASTODONTE

MASTODONTE

Mastondonte is the category-defying conceptual/musical project of Asier Etxeandia and Enrico Barbaro. Born without any specific genre and capable of spanning a panoply of styles (electronica, pop, rock, and punk), their debut release is much more than an album: it’s a veritable sensory experience, an explosion of feelings expressed through music

MUJERES

MUJERES

After over ten years of activity, Mujeres is by now considered one of the greats of the alternative rock scene, capable of drawing crowds wherever they go and playing practically every festival in Spain. The Barcelona trio will give us a run through of their ascendant career at Bereziak and present the songs from Romance Romántico, their latest EP containing four incontestable anthems with straightforward lyrics and perfect melodies to tide us over until their next album.

ORTIGA

ORTIGA

Chicho, who was the other half of the cambia group Esteban&Manuel, branches out on his own with ORTIGA. A festive project of pop melodies with an appreciation for the verbenera [fairground]; capable of creating a fantastic sound where Rubén Blades, the Orquesta Panorama, Metallica, Bad Bunny, the Miami Sound Machine, Omar Souleyman or El Gitano, la cabra y la trompeta rub shoulders without any inhibitions.

PONY BRAVO

PONY BRAVO

The Sevillian quartet’s experimental rock will also blare out from the Bereziak stages. After five years of not releasing any new material, Pony Bravo returns with a fourth studio album; an album which, as always, is packed full of their particular sense of humor and very personalized proposal. A rare must-see.

THE INTERGALATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO

THE INTERGALATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO

Their music is characterized by electronic sounds propelled by African percussion, a punk-like aesthetic, and lyrics extrapolating on modern society. Known for the combustive power of their live show, I. R. O. K. promise to deliver a wild and exciting immersive experience through their hypnotic tunes.

VENTURI

VENTURI

The Madrid trio made up of Daniel Duran (voice and bass), Lucas Olazabal, and Jonas Batuecas (guitar and drums) will present the songs from their recent debut, Mi estúpida opinión, out on Oso Polita. It’s a vibrant pop-rock album capable of transmitting, upon a bed of consistent guitars and good melodies, all the rage and tenderness a kid can squeeze out of youth with his bare hand.
