We are proud to announce that The Cure, together with Radiohead, will be headlining the seventh edition the Bilbao BBK Live festival.
The Cure – Robert Smith (lead singer and guitar), Simon Gallup (base guitar), Jason Cooper (drums) and Roger O’Donnell (Keyboard) – will be touring major European festivals this summer with a very special show: over two hours of selected anthems from their fourteen studio albums, including those from ‘Wish’, a very special celebration of the 20th anniversary of this album.
Formed in 1976 in Crawley, United Kingdom, The Cure is one of the most influential bands in rock history. Emerged in the post-punk era, The Cure became a band difficult classify due to the diversity of musical styles showcased in their long and successful career.
In addition to The Cure, The Inspector Cluzo & The FB’s Horns, Tribes, Zoé and Corizonas will also perform at Bilbao BBK Live 2012.
Corizonas is a hybrid band created by musicians from Arizona Baby and Los Coronas; a real country-folk party with a wild live set and an album ‘The News Today’ in the market.
French funk-rock ’n’ roll duo The Inspector Cluzo (& The FB’s Horns) will be back at the Bilbao BBK Bilbao festival to present ‘The 2 Mousquetaires’ an album dedicated to the French and their traditions.
With just an EP, produced by Mike Crossley (Arctic Monkeys, The Kooks), Tribes caught the attention of Frank Black (Pixies) who invited them personally to support Pixies at a gig in London. The four-piece from Camden will be coming to Bilbao to present “Baby”.
Finally, Zoé the fathers of Mexican indie-rock will be joining the line-up of the festival. The Mexican band, who’s been playing since 1997, found their unique sound on their second album “Rockanlover”, a name the band also gives to their fans. They are heavily influenced by bands such as The Charlatans or Stone Roses.
