KEANE, JAMES MURPHY AND THE VIEW ARE AMONGST THE NEW ADDITIONS TO THE LINEUP OF BILBAO BBK LIVE 2012

Bilbao BBK Live adds eight new names to the lineup of its seventh edition. Keane, James Murphy and The View are amongst the new additions that also include We Are Augustines, Pat Mahoney, Awolnation & The Black Belles.


Keane is one of the most successful British bands of the last decade. The band’s first four albums, ‘Hopes and Fears’, ‘Under the Iron Sea’, ‘Perfect Symmetry’ and ‘Night Train’, went straight to the number one of the sales charts in the UK, selling over 10 million albums. Their next album “Strangeland” (first LP since 2008) was released on the 7th May.

 

James Murphy (Princeton Junction, New Jersey, EEUU, 1970) is a musician, producer, DJ and the cofounder of the indie label DFA Records. He is internationally acclaimed and widely known for his LCD Soundsystem project. LCD gained Murphy massive audience and industry recognition from 2001 to 2011. Murphy has also collaborated with successful artists such as Gorillaz or Outkast amongst others. He’ll be at the decks in Bilbao, as well as Pat Mahoney, also an ex member of LCD Soundsystem, also DJ-ing in the opening day of the festival.


Hailing from Scotland, The View, mixes elements of punk, pop, folk and alternative rock in their music. They have released three albums to date and they are coming to Bilbao to present their fourth long play “Cheeky For A Reason”, on sale on the 2nd July.


Finally, We Are Augustines (indie-rock, New York), released their debut album “Rise Ye Sunken Ships” last year. Similarly the also North American band Awolnation released “Megalithic Symphony” last year, and so far this year they have released the new single “Knights of Shame”.


The Black Belles, are an all girl quartet characterized by their garage and semi gothic style, who count with Jack White (The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather) as their musical godfather, releasing their album under his label. The Basque band Namek Planet, winner of the Banden Lehia 2011 (Battle of the bands) closes the list of the latest line-up announcements.

Tickets for Saturday 14th July are now on sale at £42 + booking fee. Still having to confirm the line-up of the Vodafone tent, Thursday’s last acts will be the winner of the EiTB Gaztea music contest.
