THE SOUNDS OF THE UNIVERSE WITHIN EVERYBODY´S REACH

Songs of the Universe”, Depeche Mode´s twelfth album is already on sale, according to the singer Dave Grahan, as a new chapter in the history of the band. "It’s a new stage, as if we had completed a work. Either is the beginning or the end of something creatively speaking".

After three years of silence “Sounds of the Universe” has followed a “natural process” and a different experience to previous ones. As Martin Gore states: “Everything has been simpler than ever. In fact, I’ve never been a very prolific composer until this record. Before going into the studio I had composed 18 songs. With Dave’s four songs we already had 22. The studio sessions were pretty smooth. We were with Ben Hillier again (also responsible of the sound in “Playing the Angel”). He has very clear ideas and makes everything very easy. Until that point that when we finished, we wanted to keep on”. Read the whole interview.

Next year Depeche Mode will make thirty years – a period during which they´ve had 45 songs in the British lists and have brought the electronic music to a wider audience with songs like “Enjoy the Silence”, “Personal Jesus” or “People are People” . Now is time to present the album in their tour “Tour of the Universe 2009” stopping at Bilbao BBK Live.
